Southern Virginia Robotics (SVR) is an organization that is committed to inspiring students to build skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). SVR currently supports a FIRST Robotics competition team at Halifax County High School, Team 977, the Cometbots. Students engage in mentor-based projects that build skills in STEM as well as communication and leadership. Students are well prepared to contribute to our community.
Southern Virginia Robotics is a 501(c)(3) public charity. The organization currently supports a single youth robotic team at Halifax County High School. We hope to expand to support teams at the middle and elementary level in the near future.
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a mentor-based program that is effective at inspiring young people to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers and interests.
The Cometbots are based at Halifax County High School in South Boston, VA. The Cometbots are on a mission to get our rural community excited about technology.
